Avril Jones Photography

In the beginning ...

Like so many photographers, I took my first photos with the family Brownie Box.  At age 13 I was given an instamatic - the film equivalent of today's most basic 'point and shoot' camera - with which I took some truly awful snaps.  Years later, with a desire to capture images that I'd actually want to keep, I graduated to a film SLR, which I still own.  In more recent years, I eagerly embraced digital photography as it began to mature.  I continue to be excited by its tidal wave of technological development.

Currently based in Surrey, I yearn for breathtaking scenery with mountains, rocks and great bodies of water.  Capturing such scenery can involve getting cold and wet while waiting for the light to be 'right', so the more hospitable studio environment often holds considerable appeal.  Photography is my passion, and my favourite view is the one taking shape in my viewfinder.  I hope you'll take a look around my gallery and like what you see.  Feedback is always welcome.
